Bardens Boudoir Cafe and Bar, Dalston
FancyaPint?'s review...
From the ashes of the popular basement bar of the same name comes a smaller, less hectic ground floor bar, close to the original venue. Popular as it is with the Dalston set, it's hardly groundbreaking. There's a bit of art of the walls, the promise of events to come and DJs spinning forgettable tunes, but on the whole people have just come to drink. Speaking of which, you'll find watery, flat lager aplenty, compensated for by friendly and attentive staff. Watch out though for young chaps with wispy straggly moustaches and clown-length shoes who think they're Midge Ure circa 1983, but who steadfastly refuse to move an inch to help the flow of patrons around the busy space. There are better bars in the area.
