Barrio, Battersea
FancyaPint?'s review...
The term Barrio - the 'place of gathering' in Spanish slang - is pretty justified for this one made in London. From the press cuttings exposed on the toilet walls, Barrio seems proud of its recognition as a recommended cocktail bar and quite right too. There is a fine cocktail menu, Kirin and Red Stripe on tap and some fine bar food. The Central and South-American staff are amicable and efficient, and table service is pleasantly offered, which is a major plus for the large outdoor seating Barrio enjoys in Battersea Square. The place plays various music, from Latino to alternative house and apparently hosts DJs at times. But most of all, there is a genuine warmth about the place. All this makes a justified appeal to the younger and alternative crowds but also anyone who enjoys a relaxing and friendly experience.
