Bedford Tavern, Croydon
FancyaPint?'s review...
Well, it's had the tidy up we thought it needed last time we were in, although the smattering of quotes that have been stencilled on the walls may not be to everyone's liking. And sadly, the bar billiards table has gone, replaced with a dart board. It's still off the beaten track and the locals and regulars that go there seem to like it that way. Service was pleasant enough, and the beer garden out the front offers an appealing place to while away an afternoon in the sun. There's a couple of real ales on the taps, Greene King's IPA and Young's bitter, well kept, but no real surprises. We can't say it's better than the pubs in the High Street - okay, it's better than Yates's, deffo - but if you want something a bit quieter and comfortable, this is probably the place.
