Away from the main drag in High Barnet, the Black Horse is a pleasant-looking pub which benefits from a large, pretty garden. It tends to rely on a regular crowd of locals, and inside is more rough and ready than the exterior would suggest, but we were made to feel as welcome as anyone. Football was the main attraction early on a Saturday evening, even if this was being drowned out by one punter's less than critically-acclaimed choices on the jukebox. Live bands are a regular feature on Fridays. It's the sort of place you'll always enjoy more if it becomes your local, but still is worthy of your custom if in the area -- especially in summer.

At first glance, the black Horse in Barnet seems a quaint, warm, and welcoming local pub. The staff are well presented, intelligent, friendly and helpful, the customers are lively, engaging and approachable, and the choice of evening entertainments is varied, and of the highest standards. With its famous band nights advertised through the well known music site www.lemonrock.co.uk, various themed nights, as well as established charitable links and enjoyable fundraising events.
If you happen to be one of the many Commuters residing in the local area, why not walk that little bit further from the tube station, to take part in their "really happy hour" with a pie and a pint (or equivalent beverage)for a very reasonable £5 available Monday to Friday from 5.30 until 7.30 pm. If you are looking for something a little more substantial, the Pub offers a varied menu all day long, catering for you and your family, as well as corporate and pre booked events.
Whatever your need, the Black Horse is the perfect location to hold xmas parties, or charity events, in fact if you are bringing more then 20 people with you, then they will provide free buffet and entertainment! You really can't say fairer than that now can you? So get on down, and become a part of the fast growing Black horse Community, which seems more of a large Barnet family, than a business.
