It's no surprise that the Cat and Mutton was reborn as a gastroboozer a few years ago. This place offers everything one would expect for anyone familiar with the London Fields area and things gastropub. Billed as a pub and dining room, it's really a dining room that sells some beer, wines and spirits. The drink selection is pretty standard - Deuchars and Landlord on tap with the usual lagers and bottled beers, the wine list is OK and the food pricey gastropub grub. It's not at all the sort of place you'd come to for a reflective pint or two and a couple of chapters of Proust, you're here of to meet and greet (and shout it seems, thanks to the harsh acoustics) with your fellow Hackneyites. Almost any time will see The Cat and Mutton packed with the local inhabitants and on bank holidays and warm sunny days they'll be accompanied by their progeny. Best leave them to it.

Was passing by Broadway Market today and popped in for a pint with a mate. The service was APPALLING. Barmaids and bartenders too vacuously admiring their own reflections to service people. There was a particular terrible blonde barmaid who only seems to be interested in serving men. Avoid, avoid avoid! PS- And there is only one female toilet regardless of the fact at least 50+ people can fit in the pub.
