Catcher In The Rye, Finchley Central
FancyaPint?'s review...
It was rather sad to watch this pub become increasingly rundown, grubby and rough over the last few years, especially considering the lack of good alternatives in the area. However, it's now been taken over by the Faucet Inn group, who grabbed it by the scruff of its neck and gutted it, in turn producing something far more acceptable. They have gone for the low slung couch and leather cube look, which is hardly unique, but in this case was comfortable and not overly pretentious. The food menu was also exceptionally enticing. By no means perfect - it was a little clinical and monochrome for our liking - this now one of the better places in Finchley Central for a drink.
