No longer as bland as we previously reported it to be, it still feels more like a bar and restaurant more than a pub, but drinking is still first priority, even if it is cocktails. Don't get us wrong, pints are available, just no real ale. Okay, it's pleasant enough, the friendly staff and genial locals make it pretty welcoming in fact. As it was a lovely day, we spent most of our time in the garden. However, its location on a main road means the large garden isn't exactly the haven it ought to be. It's settled in from our last visit and does what it does pretty well. It's a far cry removed from the nearby aussie bar or the Wetherspoon across the road and that's probably a good thing.
