The Chesham Arms is the epitome of a friendly back street local. Although it's recently changed ownership, the fundamentals which make this a great pub still remain. Although overshadowed by a 1960s council estate, it's actually a hidden away on a pretty little Victorian terrace off Homerton High Street and our visit found a clean, warm and inviting pub. A good mix of regulars of all ages and backgrounds call this their local and service is cheery and welcoming. We were also impressed to find a good choice of ale - around three or four at any one point, including a choice from smaller breweries. A good looking back garden, some good food and a popular quiz night add to the charm. The only obvious negatives come from the TV, as the choice of music isn't always great and it's hard to escape the football's presence in such a small pub. Even so, with places like this becoming increasingly rare in London, it's therefore all the more deserving of your custom.
