City Barge, Kew
FancyaPint?'s review...
Different in feel to the other two pubs on Strand on the Green, the City Barge does the job for a local clientele who want something a bit more energising than the rather sedate atmosphere of the Bull's Head and the Bell & Crown. It's hardly a raucous affair, but it is the only pub of the three to have Sky Sports available. Kudos too to the chatty barman, doing his best on our last visit to have a word with all of his customers. It's a fairly straightforward pub, and when all's told, could perhaps do with a gentle refurb. But we'd hate to see this one change too much, offering as it does a counterbalance to the other pubs it shares this stretch of the Thames with.

How to find the City Barge pub
Exit Kew Bridge station. Cross the road, head towards the bridge, then take a left onto Strand on the Green (path running along the river). The pub is past the bell and crown pub and about 5 mins walk away.
