Now under the Nicholson's umbrella, the Clarence has been touched up and now more befits its exclusive postcode. With the Ritz but a short stroll away (or a lengthy cab ride, if you're an unsuspecting tourist), the Clarence is a safe bet for any visitors to London. Nicholson's have done their best to give this one a sense of longevity and their adverts for 'our famous fish and chips' show who they're wanting to attract. The beer selection isn't the greatest we've ever seen in a Nicholson's and it has to be said, a rather transient air pervaded when we were in - many of the clientele were fuelling up, before going to the nearby club. Perhaps not the most characterful of boozers then, but we can see it filling up in the summer months.

Go to this pub all the time... Very sociable & friendly, bar staff nice, cheap prices (under £10 for a bottle of house white which is very drinkable). Gets busy towards the end of the evening with folk waiting to head into mahiki. Very handy as two mins from tube. Great place to begin an evening.
