Coach & Horses, Mayfair
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Coach & Horses is a quaint little Tudorbethan building in a posh part of London - only a stone's throw from three main shopping areas - and it's a jolly decent pub too. Real ale aficionados are well taken care of, with a selection of well-kept beer on the hand pumps and there's often a guest beer. The wine list is dominated by New World produce, which seems to suit the clientele pretty well and the service is prompt, polite, friendly - and knowledgeable. Food is refreshingly unpretentious and reasonably priced, especially for the area. And, it may not be the largest of pubs downstairs, but there's more space in the upstairs room than you might expect. The Coach & Horses is a deservedly popular place with people who work in the area, especially in the usual post-work hours and at lunch time, and the few tourists who do manage to find it, will enjoy a pleasant experience.
