Crooked Billet, Wimbledon
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is a large and rather labyrinthine Young's house (there are two here, nearly next door to each other) that has the feel of an upmarket country pub, and has the clientele to match. It's certainly worth popping into if you're in the area, being cosy enough in the winter and popular in the summer. Decent Young's beer, complimented with local brewery beers is always a bonus and the menu, while leaning to gastro, looks pretty good, if a tad on the pricier side. There's also pleasant artwork by local artists for sale spread around at least one end of the pub. Worth a look.

I haven't been here in quite a while, but in the Summer they used to let you take your drinks out on to the common in front of the pub. It was always a great place to hang out, with someone usually playing the guitar, maybe a late night game of football, or you can just chill out on the grass. As I said, this was a while ago, so your mileage may vary.
