Cross Keys, Ravenscourt Park
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Cross Keys is a Fuller's house that's ideal if you're finding the bright lights of the Chiswick High Road too much of a strain. Our last visit found a fairly busy locals pub, predominantly - but not exclusively - filled with men in their 50s and 60s. There's a choice of four pumps - bizarrely all serving London Pride - although bottled ales can be found behind the bar, alongside the usual lagers. Traditional in style, you'll find plenty of wooden paneling, along with a larger back section, complete with a vaulted ceiling. A good back garden with a smoking den and a simple pub grub menu (priced around the £8 mark) add to the positives. Ultimately this is a good, homely and unpretentious pub - just the way we like them.

Have been a few times and initially it seemed a pleasant, low key sort of place. However, there are distinct advantages to being a regular - you can waltz up to the bar and get served ahead of folk who have been waiting rather longer. If you have the patience to put up with being ignored on enough occasions, eventually you too might join the golden circle.
