De Hems, Soho

Please check opening times with the pub before making a special journey.
De Hems takes its name from a Dutch seaman who bought the pub in 1890. The pubs history is strongly linked to the Dutch community and the Dutch Resistance who met here during the Second World War. A music business haunt in the 1960s and it was said that a place in the charts could be bought in the old Oyster Bar. At the turn of the new century, the venue hosted a comedy club - the Oranje Boom-Boom Cabaret, which included the debut of The Mighty Boosh. Today is an eclectic beer emporium swimming in Dutch History specialising in Dutch, Begium and Craft beers from all over the world. Offers a range of Dutch favourites including Bitterballen and Frikandellen. It is also London's only Dutch Bar holding big Dutch community events like Sinterklaas and Koningsdag.
