Distillers, Hammersmith
FancyaPint?'s review...
From the same owners as the near-legendary Bedford in Balham comes The Distillers. Like its sister pub, this one shares an emphasis on in-house pub entertainment - pretty much each night of the week there's a music or comedy night on upstairs. Does this one stand alone as a pub to seek out for its own merits though? Well, we weren't entirely convinced. There's plenty of space in the ground floor bar - although it can get pretty crowded at the weekends, and the mirrors and chandeliers add an upmarket feel to proceedings, which mark this one out from the other pubs on Fulham Palace Road. There's a decent range of beers (Decuchar's, Wandle, Doom bar and Junction) and it's decently kept. But, somehow though, we just didn't click with this one: it just felt somewhat transient to us. However, if you're coming here for the comedy or the music (whether here or round the corner in the Hammersmith Apollo) then it'll do a decent job for you.
