The Dolphin is a decent, but rather tiny, pub tucked slightly out of the way in Holborn, it is but a step from the far more wholesome - and thoroughly wonderful and wonderfully unique - Conway Hall, home of the Ethical Society in Red Lion Square since 1929. It's a nice contrast in a way: you can be assured while the Socialist Workers Party are discussing rising working class militancy in Conway Hall, the working class are actually enjoying a well-earned pint in the Dolphin. It gets packed at times, but it's only a little place, so that's to be expected. The beer is well kept, and there's usually a couple of real ales on (Pride and Young's when we were last there). The service was very prompt and friendly too. Not a bad little place by any means.
