Now in new hands (again), the Duchess really isn't faring that well. Having briefly been a haven for whiskey lovers, this is once more heading towards the traditional run down pub territory. It looks rather dark and forelorn compared to some of the more boisterous boozers nearer Battersea. The decor is the same quirky mix (although given that it had been in new hands less than a week when we visited that might change) and the view of the power station is still as amazing as ever, but there was nothing to keep us there once our half pints were drunk. Sure, there are three ales on tap and the steak-filled menu looks pretty good (we overheard one punter say "I've never had steak like this before" but whether that was praise or dismay we couldn't tell), but otherwise a pretty unremarkable pub.

Great garden to the rear to enjoy some lunchtime sun in addition to the 1st floor terrace and much more reasonably priced than the Masons Arms further down the road by Battersea Park Station
