The Duke of Wellington is another pub in the confluence of Marylebone that made the move more upmarket in recent(ish) times. Having removed the quirky, ramshackle decor of a few years back, this is almost a restaurant masquerading as a pub. Aiming for a sober and sophisticated crowd, the Duke of Wellington's décor is neutral and understated, though the large number of pictures tilts it towards a slightly idiosyncratic feel. Nothing too tasteless, you understand. The staff are friendly and the beers good - usually three ales on, while the wine list looks reasonable, too. That all said, the food comes first here and it isn't cheap - chicken breast salad comes in at £13. In look and execution this is interchangeable with a number of high-end gastropubs in the area and if you're just looking for a drink, there are plenty of other better suited establishments to try.

Visited this pub on Friday evening and found it to be very pleasant. Only two real ales on but they were both of a good standard, and the weather made standing outside a nice experience. Looked busy for food but we didn't try any ourselves.
