A grand pub with great views over the Thames, this pub's gone upmarket a bit like a number of other Young's pubs. There's a separate dining room that capitalises on the view - can't say we blame this choice, as it's a pretty good view - a comfortable pub area and a downstairs bar that can be hired. The beer's what we expected, Young's and Wells, but decent enough (the Winter Warmer's on now and it's very nice). And judging by the clientele when we were in last, the move up has been welcomed by the locals and regulars. We even saw one couple nip into the restaurant area once lunch service was over, so it's obviously a bit relaxed about things. There's nothing wrong with it and the location is pretty prime, it's just not our first choice amongst the pubs in the area. And it gets busy on warm days, not to mention the day of the Oxford/Cambridge race.
