An unremarkable locals' pub just off Shooters Hill Road, the Eagle is a sparse, rather careworn pub. London Pride is the standout beer among the usual suspects at the bar, and the furnishings are typical of a thousand suburban pubs you've been to: well-used carpet, big ashtrays, bare walls. The jukebox output on our visit ranged from the reasonable to the execrable (Hall & Oates to Michael Bolton), whilst Friday night promised the intriguing 'SE3' live in the house; if they're anything like the last band named after a London postcode, it won't hurt to skip the entertainment.
