The Elixir bar is a loungey sort of place with an emphasis on cocktails and live music. Pleasant enough, but a bit off the beaten track, barring locals and people who work nearby. It's better than the dark pub we remember before the name change. No beer on the taps, but the cocktail list is fairly extensive and the promise of fresh bread suggests the food's decent. If you want to get away from the crowds around Mornington Crescent, this is ideal. Some of the music nights lean towards Goth with names like 'Vampiir' which are intriguing - might have to catch one of those...

How to find the Elixir Bar (formerly Rowley's) pub
Mornington Crescent: turn right out of the tube, and then, almost immediately sharp right again so that you are on Eversholt Street (behind where you started out). Continue ahead and, after the traffic lights ahead, the pub is ahead on the left hand side. Euston: leave via Eversholt Street and head up to the left. The pub is about five minutes walk on the right hand side.
