Elk Bar, Fulham
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is definitely a bar. No chance we'd confuse it with a pub, no, not at all. You can get a pint here, albeit lager, Edelwiess Weissbier or Guinness, so it's still a contender. It was rather dark inside when we were in last, and the dimness (never mind the alcohol) suggested that it was quite a long space - that is, until we realised the people looking at us from further down the bar were our reflections in a mirror. The walls have banquettes down most sides, creating nooks and crannies with alternating displays of antlers, elk or otherwise, and interesting 3D photo constructions of pine forest scenes. It's a bit quiet in early evening, and we suspect it doesn't pick up until later - more likely for the clubby types. There are tellies around the place and some indication that they show football matches. Interesting place.
