First things first. This is Battersea, so it's no surprise the Fox & Hounds has a stripped out interior and mix 'n' match old wooden furniture - an archetypal year zero gastropub. But tucked on a barren stretch of the Latchmere Road, the local residents are probably very grateful for this little pub. The food was predominantly Mediterranean and looked great, but with prices over £10 it was more expensive than many local restaurants, although that didn't hinder its popularity with the well-to-do locals. Still, at heart it remains a pub and coming here for a drink is a pleasant experience, especially if you manage to get a seat in the annex (which appears to have been converted from a shop next door). There were also three ales on the hand pumps, including the excellent Harvey's Best and we hear the garden is good for Summer. Definitely one of the better pubs in the area.

I love this pub. The food is consistently good - really healthy portions and amazingly good value. They have an excellent wine list, a lovely beer garden, the staff are really welcoming and friendly and the service is quick. It's equally good for afternoon boozing / sunday night dinner or mid-week catch up with friends.

I'd read good reviews about this pub, so was terribly disappointed when i met with my friends there for Sunday lunch. Everything was ok until we placed our food orders at the bar. A rude member of staff (who i was later told was the manager) had to come to our table and re-take the order because there was some confusion. The food turned up sporadically and for one of my less fortunate friends not at all. Then another friend found an elastic band still attached to his salad in his meal - the same member of staff was far from polite about it and nothing was offered to compensate. Only after both disappointed friends had gone to the bar were they refunded. The food we did consume lacked flavour and was only luke warm in some cases. And to add to my disappointment the manager was too busy to talk to me about the problems we had had, so we all left very disappointed, NEVER to return again...
