Despite a couple of people having a go at running the externally pretty Glyn Arms over the last couple of years, it has now shut. This is despite the huge amount of residential housing and a captive audience. The nearest pub - the Elderfield - seems to do good trade, but they're blessed with being situated in a street filled with Victorian Houses, while the Glyn Arms is on an ugly road surrounded by new-build council houses. More evidence, it seems, of the shift in the demographics of pubgoers.
