Harlequin, Angel
FancyaPint?'s review...
Tucked away on a side street near the Angel and Sadler's Wells, the Harlequin was apparently first listed as a 'beer shop' in 1848. It's a small place, with a wooden interior, real fire and outside area at the back. Despite its size, the pub never seems to get overbearingly busy, even on a Friday night. We've always received a very warm welcome here. The food and drinks selection isn't the widest, but it is all pretty good. Two real ales are available on tap, Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Black Sheep. The food range includes fishfinger and sausage sandwiches and a selection of British cheeses, in case you feel your cholesterol levels dipping dangerously low. Board games are available from behind the bar and there is a pub quiz on Monday nights. Overall, the Harlequin is a lovely friendly little place that gets everything pretty much right and is well worth a visit.
