Heathcote Arms, Leytonstone
FancyaPint?'s review...
You could almost be forgiven for thinking this is a country pub when you get in, as there's so much on and things to do while you're here and it feels pretty isolated. A focal point for the local community, it's a bit isolated in terms of where it is - there's a dearth of pubs in the area and it feels like it. Lots of tellies to watch the sport on, live music and comedy nights, two pool tables, darts and a huge garden. It's huge inside and when it's quiet, it can feel a bit like a library, but when the locals are in, it's pretty genial all round. There's decent enough beer on the taps and a good selection of pub grub on the menu, not to mention regular curry nights. Oh, and the bogs are pretty horrible, so we only visited them when we were desperate. There's a large trophy cabinet near the pool tables, evidence of the competitive spirit in the area.
