This small pub on the Northeast corner of Highbury roundabout looks fairly unremarkable, but serves a decent range of draught beer and ciders, plus a further 20 bottled choices of apple-based brew, in pleasing enough surroundings. It does also open later than many nearby places and has a great theatre upstairs, which has witnessed the birth of many a famous comedian's career. Big acts continue to use the space, often to try out new material before major shows. The seating has been marginally improved, but is predominantly high level, in no small part to accommodate the pre and post theatre crowds. As such, the place feels a little transitory, but at least attempts to gain repeat custom with an eclectic jukebox and live music acts in the main bar. There are certainly far worse places to visit this close to the tube, but it's probably only worth a major detour if you're coming to see some comedy, or it's after 11.00pm and you're thirsty for a couple more...
