Henley Arms, Woolwich
FancyaPint?'s review...
Directly opposite the Silverlink railway line, underneath the new DLR extension and in front of some dismal tower blocks, the Henley Arms has not been geographically blessed. On our visit, constant drilling didn't help the atmosphere much and perhaps this distracted the bar staff too (we waited several minutes before one of the locals whistled for service). No real ales on offer here but the lunchtime menu was reasonable, at least. If the word Henley conjures up images of drunken Hooray Henrys on yachts, this place offers a sharp corrective; you can leave the boater at home.
