10.20pm, Friday night. If you like bars sparsely filled with drunk girls singing along to songs - karaoke-style - and dancing around, this place is for you. For us, there weren't enough people to create any sort of atmosphere, while the volume of the caterwauling from would-be X-factor first round rejects made it unsuitable for having a normal drink. There's a late licence (until 2am) and perhaps it picks up later, or at other times of the week, but from our brief visit we'd recommend giving it a miss. If you want a proper pub the Agricultural up the road is a better bet, while the Angel area isn't short of good, lively bars either.

Visit this place on one of their club nights and you wont be disapointed. They've recently had a refurb and have started hosting a lot of gigs showing bands that are under the radar and local DJs. The nights seem to attract a really cool young and friendly crowd and has a great selection of pocket friendly drinks. I have been in here on a week night though and the atmosphere isn't quite the same, I think they're in the process of shirking off the old drunks and becoming a bit more trendy so maybe give it a miss then or bring a group with you. Super friendly bar staff, great music and v reasonable prices make it a winner for me!

Contrary to the condemning sentiments expressed on this site, i for one found the establishment most agreeable. All credit to the three lovely birthday hostesses and their robust selection process. At 2223on friday night the Mc-absense of two in no way dampened the atmospheric synergy of celebration, dj and live. bongo.

From Angel: cross Upper Street toward Liverpool Road, but turn left immediately and go down Upper Street. Take the next right opposite the HSBC bank and the pub is about two minutes down on the right hand corner.
