Hole in the Wall, Chiswick
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Hole is the Wall is a pretty looking pub, with a mock Tudor exterior and a quiet back street location away from Turnham Green. Inside though, things are a little less interesting as it turns out to be another minimalist, bare floorboarded gastropub. The muted and elegant colour scheme is actually more simply described as boring. There are three separate areas, with the left hand room being the most inviting, which is where we spent our visit. Elsewhere, the gastro intentions are clear and a peruse of the food menu found most items over a tenner - too much for such an inauspicious location. Perhaps the saving grace is the pretty and surprisingly large back garden which looks perfect for a sunny day. Despite a comparative lack of local competition, the Hole in the Wall is probably not exciting enough for to rush back very quickly.
