Horse & Groom, Belgravia
FancyaPint?'s review...
Another Belgravia pub in another mews, this small Shepherd Neame pub is everything you might wish for in a local - if you're lucky enough to live in SW1. This small wood panelled bar might be described by some as scruffy, but 'well worn' is a better description. The beers are well kept, wine list interesting, the service friendly and (although possibly out of character for its location) a rather tempting cocktail list is also available. Its very easy to just sit back and enjoy your well-kept pint here, perhaps with a packet of dried Elk sausages or one of the sarnies from the bar. The mix of clientele means neither feeling like you're invading a sacrosanct local - like some other nearby pubs - or being swept along in the throng of the afterwork and tourist crowd all too common in nearby Victoria. Recommended.
