Hidden away on a street which serves as an charming oasis away from Earls Court High Street, the Kings Head is a revamped pub with lounge and gastro touches. Taken on its own merits it's not bad at all: there's decent beer on the hand pumps, Belgian bottles in the fridge and a good selection of reasonably priced, tasty food on the menu, all topped off with first class service. Couches, retro flock wallpaper and a tabletop pac man would indicate aiming for a younger crowd, but we found people of all ages happily sharing the pub on our afternoon visit, with the section around the ornate fireplace particularly popular. We also spied a plasma screen off to one side, indicating some sort of sports action, but it was switched off on our visit. It gets pretty busy here later on, with seats hard to come by, but considering it's the best pub in the area, that's hardly surprising.
