Lots Road Pub & Dining Room, Fulham
FancyaPint?'s review...
The original gastropubs were first and foremost pubs - a fine time could be had even if you weren't there to dine. But in the last few years variations on the gastropub theme have developed, to the extent that the 'gastro' and the 'pub' aren't equally weighted. Take this revamped old Firkin pub, situated near Chelsea Harbour. Here the boundaries between 'pub' and 'dining room' are pretty nebulous, and even in what appears to be the 'pub' section all the empty tables had cutlery and wine glasses on them. 'Pub & Dining Room'? 'Bar & Restaurant' more like. Perhaps it's wrong for us to include this one in our guide, but hey, we're not the ones who are calling it a pub. Place for an expensive meal? Probably splendid. Place for a few drinks? No. Which is why such a low rating.
