Unpromising as its location appears, on Brentford's dismal high-street opposite the magistrates court, this is a delightful find. A homely place, all wood panelling and velvet banquettes. They take their beers seriously here, boasting Budvar, Paulaner & Hoegaarden on the pumps, and an ever changing selection of 5 guest beers, ciders and perries to tempt you inside. Having served 1300 beers in 8 years, unsurprisingly they have won local CAMRA awards in the past. If the lure of real ale doesn't inspire you, maybe a rare bar billiards table might. When we were there the TV was off and the gas-fire on, so ideal for a quiet pint, although this was not the only Brentford pub we found playing 60's tunes gently on the sound system. A very good local and a tad quirky, it's worth the trip if you like ale or the Beach Boys.
