Far from being closed, the Mansion House is in rude good health now we're in May 2013. The refurbishment - think wood, leather, mirrors and brick - works. The wide range of Oakham ales (including, on our visit, a mild!!) - works. The eating area is clearly defined; voyeurs will appreciate the CCTV showing the chefs at work. Oenophiles will study the wine list with interest.
Very handy for Kennington tube; well worth breaking your journey here to or from the Oval.
