Market Tavern, Shepherd Market
FancyaPint?'s review...
Any previous incarnations of the Market Tavern are now a dim and instant memory. This version of the pub is now firmly established around here and it's rightly popular. There are interesting, well-kept Cask Marque ales on the hand pumps, a good selection of lagers, ciders and other beers on tap and a decent wine list. It hasn't tried to compete with the more traditional boozers in the area, but carved a niche for itself as a slightly more upmarket drink and dining experience. There's a conventional (nowadays) gastro menu with a prix fixé option and bar snacks aplenty, the upstairs room can be hired, but there are also big screens for sport. As with most pubs in Shepherd Market, the Market Tavern is popular with the after work crowd - and not being the largest of places, fact is often readily apparent - fortunately in summer, most people choose to stand outside. Nonetheless, the market Tavern is worth considering if you're meeting people in the area.

By far the best place in the area, the choice of drinks is refreshing different from the norm, the food is not a restaurant but good value and quaility for a pub,but the best things are the staff who are all really friendly and efficient.
Worth a look just to see the upstairs bar it definatly has the WOW factor.
