Disappointingly no longer a fixture on the goth circuit; long gone are the coffins, potions and devilish cocktails and back to a fairly standard pub. This used to be hidden from view of Oxford street proper (we lost track of it ourselves) by a building complex - we have to admit we can't remember what it was now that it's gone - and the construction noises from next door suggest the view isn't going to last a lot longer. It's okay, friendly enough staff, the beers are kept well and we got a seat on our last visit. We wouldn't say the menu's spectacular, it's mostly as one would expect from a pub this close to shopping hell. Although, we spotted several references to 'best of British', suggesting they're flying the flag for all things British, and the punters (mostly comprised of tourists) didn't seem to mind much. Pleasant enough and a refuge from Oxford Street.
