Melton Mowbray, Farringdon
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Melton Mowbray is a Fuller's Ale and Pie pub and usually, it's a very full Fuller's Ale and Pie pub. It has all the usual stuff you'd expect from the chain - Fuller's excellent beers (plus other non-Fuller's items including Leffe, Scrumpy Jack and Hoegaarden), the eponymous pies, of course, and, thanks to the pub's location, hordes of suits and legal eagles from the offices nearby spilling out onto the pavement. It's a big pub, but it does, nevertheless, get crowded at the usual afterwork and lunch times, so if you don't get there early, you won't be likely to find a seat. It's an easy one for strangers in the area to find, though, just look for the mass of people on the pavement swilling beer and saying stuff like "tort" and "caveat emptor" to each other.

I concluded my pub crawl at the Melton Mowbray. Very much a chain type establishment. but the beer was the usual good reliable stuff from Fullers (why do some people praise small breweries to the hilt, but in the same breath damn standard products like Fullers with faint praise)? A sandwich was good, but a little expensive. By the time I showed up at 2.45pm it was still nicely busy, but the hordes of customers referred to in the review had disappeared by that time.
