Myddleton Arms, Canonbury
FancyaPint?'s review...
Visiting the pubs of an area can often be a subtle exercise in demographics; which other public place divides social groups so neatly? The Myddleton Arms illustrates this by attracting its own particular clientele: older men who are Arsenal supporters. Large photos of the team and various memorabilia mark it out as definite Gunners territory. Don't get us wrong, it's friendly enough, though everyone in there does appear to know each other and the conversation was what we could only really describe as "salty". The landlady was efficient and pleasant, serving our well-kept Young's Bitter in no time. While not really worth a detour, the Myddleton Arms is worth visiting to experience what is likely a dying breed in this and other parts of London.
