New Inn, Ham
FancyaPint?'s review...
The New Inn is located overlooking Ham Common and about half a mile from Richmond Park in one direction and Ham House in the other. It has retained a lot of its original authenticity and has not become a faceless plastic pub, thankfully. It has an L shaped bar and the seating is comfortable with a small outside area at the front and a beer garden with wooden tables and benches at the rear. There was a choice of four cask ales, several lagers and a number of wines on when we were last in -we found that the prices tend to be slightly above the average. Food is served daily except Monday evenings and the quality is good, especially freshly cooked plates from the specials board. Again, the prices tend to be on the high side. No loud music or television and with the staff being friendly, it does make for a nice amiable atmosphere. Prices aside, this pub is well worth a visit. We'd definitely mark this pub as more upmarket, steering away from the the young and lively brigade.
