Old Suffolk Punch (ex O.S.P.), Hammersmith
FancyaPint?'s review...
Hard to envisage it now, but this pub once held a claim to fame as being run by the Mancini family, who in keeping with their profession called it the Golden Gloves. This was all some time ago now and having taken a woefully mistaken detour for a few years to attract some sort of West-end party crowd, Greene King have reinstated a more suitable name and dragged it back from the precipice, by turning it back into a competent albeit unremarkable pub. Expect a modern but comfortable interior, like many a Greene King refurbishment, along with a pub grub menu and a selection of GK ales. Sports can dominate proceedings at times, filled with a gathering of locals and regulars in an area which isn't as upmarket as the postcode might suggest. So not a knockout pub, or even a barnburner, at least it's not down for the count.
