O'Neill's, Heathrow
FancyaPint?'s review...
Situated in the retail hell/heaven of Heathrow's Terminal 3 flightside, O'Neill's offers international travellers some sort of refuge from the madness all around them. The usual range of draught and bottled beers and Guinness are on offer here. And whiskies. Steady the nerves and whatnot. This branch of the world's largest Irish pub chain is one of the few places in Heathrow where you can actually still smoke (albeit in a sectioned off area). O'Neill's offers travellers their full menu of burgers, bangers and stodgy sandwiches, served by dour-looking staff with no sense of urgency (well, they're not going anywhere, are they?) or indeed courtesy. Not necessarily the sort of scoff you'd want to attempt to digest before a long flight, but on our visits it's usually packed to the gills with bored-looking punters who are happy to try to eat dried out fish and chips with plastic cutlery. Fair play to them. There's not really a huge choice on offer here and O'Neill's may well prove to be the best offer you'll get without breaking into your duty free if you fancy a quick drink before boarding. (Open from 6am till whenever the last flight departs...).
