Slap bang in the middle of North Finchley High Street and having moved location a few years back, there are few surprises for those familiar with the usual O'Neill's fare. Inside you'll discover a large, rather impressive, high ceilinged pub (which can make for poor acoustics when busy) and the usual Mitchells & Butlers interpretation of 'Irishness'. Midweek its an acceptable enough place, while Friday and Saturday comes with divided opinions: suburban O'Neill's can attract a young, sometimes lairy crowd and this one is no exception, especially with its late licence. At these times, if you like a young, tipsy atmosphere then you'll do OK here. Otherwise, try the Elephants Head up the road.

A boring barn of a corporate drinking factory, with no real ale (of course) or real atmosphere - a 'why-oh-why?' pub, in other words! On a Friday or Saturday night, strictly for the desperate and those totally lacking in imagination.
