Orange Tree, Havering-atte-Bower
FancyaPint?'s review...
A warmly welcoming pub that manages to balance the duties of a village pub with those of a favoured place for a drink and meal of those from (a bit) further afield. (Food is served 'all day, every day', and it's not bad, either.) The bars are cosy and large, and there's a substantial beer garden outside. Newspapers to read, Adnam's Broadside and London Pride to drink, and a clientele less garish or lairy than most locations in the broad vicinity. Perhaps the music is sometimes a little too loud and often somewhat on the bland side, but this is still a good pub.

How to find the Orange Tree pub
Not so easy to reach under your own steam. Bus 500 from Romford railway station (or Epping) stops outside, but that's infrequent. Or get any bus from Romford to North Romford (103 to Chase Cross, 175 to Hillrise Estate; in both cases get out at the last stop on the route) and it's a 15-20 minute walk.
