Park Tavern, Finsbury Park
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Park Tavern is a pub of two halves. The front bar is small and dark, slightly tatty with an aged red carpet and a clientele consisting of older gentlemen. The back bar was a lighter, airier affair and seemed to attract a broader demographic of locals. It's a friendly little place though and you could tell that most of the folk drinking there on our visit were regulars. The 'beer garden' out back won't be winning any design awards but offers some basic outside space. Racing was prominent on all of the numerous TV screens throughout the pub, we imagine the local bookmaker does quite well. In summary, it's a local's local. But was the sign in the Gents requesting that you "relieve yourself before leaving the premises" an attempt at humour?
