Paxton Arms, Crystal Palace
FancyaPint?'s review...
In the summer of 1944, a German V1 bomb put the Paxton Arms out of business. It was, however, eventually rebuilt and the pub reopened in 1955. Inside, the pub still has the layout of something from the 1950s, with the central bar serving two adjoining rooms. A recent(ish) decoration has brought a bit of colour to the Paxton, along with a menu heavy on stone-baked pizzas. It still feels like one for the locals, but if you need to meet someone near Crystal Palace station, then this one does the job.
