A pleasant surprise in the back streets of Fulham, the Pelican is a tad more upmarket than a lot of the other pubs in the area. This, and it's location, make it an ideal place to get away from the hurly burly around Fulham Broadway station - and it's hardly far. The interior is pretty traditional, if slightly upmarket, pub with a couple of sofas almost dead centre in the middle, and it's comfortable. With decent beer on the pumps, a choice of three ales (the Harvey's Best was very nice when we were in last), a fairly comprehensive wine list, and a selection of friendly staff and locals, this makes this one we'll make sure to go back to when we're in the area. There's also the promise of good food on the menu. It's a grand place to while away an afternoon with a pint or two and a paper. Give it a go.
