Once the William Morris was 'upgraded' to an all singing, all dancing Lloyds No. 1 Bar, it was considered necessary to have a new 'proper' Wetherspoon in Hammersmith. It wasn't, but we'll let that one go. Part of a Holiday Inn Express - tacked on or in front of, we're not quite sure - the typeface of the sign and the adverts hanging in the large plate glass windows made it look uncannily like an upmarket Estate Agent, or perhaps part of the nearby Holiday Inn - blink and you might miss it. Inside its bland: deceptively large - probably too large - and mainly decorated in pine colours. Anyway, as with all the newer Wetherspoon pubs, they ticked all the right boxes - clean, cheap, disabled accessibility, good toilets, OK food, real ales, proper ventilation - but forgot the most important one: atmosphere. We heard it described as the sort of pub you find in an airport departure lounge and that's not too far off.
