No longer the fearsome pub it once was - we can recall "Adult Karaoke" being the entertainment of choice - the Pride has gone from being awful to (just) adequate. A tight arrangement of tables and chairs rather hems in the punters, lending the place an air that isn't entirely relaxing. It serves a need as a meeting place near Paddington Station, but it's not really one you'll be wanting to linger in.

Whilst the music was what you might call challenging both the beer and food were excellent and good value respectively. Decor is "dark wood sauna" meets crimson and the staff are abrupt rather than outright rude.
There is lots going on in the pub and events are advertised well in advance: Waitangi Circle Line pub crawl, jubilee in fancy dress and special deals for the Olympics are all coming up this Spring. The toilets are clean and in good repair, not always the case in London.
Accommodation is in a backpacker style hostel and is currently £19 per night, with deals advertised again for the Olympics.
A good pub could be great when kicking - lose the awful turgid music at lunchtime and it would have been bordering on a "5"
