Prince Albert, Notting Hill
FancyaPint?'s review...
A new paint job for an old theatre pub that's been kicked into the 21st century: the formula is certainly not new - there's a large island bar of which half is a grill/kitchen to show where your chosen dish was assembled. One, possibly original, feature is a lovely wall of stained glass at the end of the pub. It's a bit gastro, but obviously does the job for the regulars and locals that go in there. The decor invites loungers and candles, well, burn. The bar offers a mix of beers to suit the Notting Hill set - continental lagers and beers alongside a couple of real ales on the pumps. Even when its quiet, the service can be a bit slow. When there's a show on upstairs (at the Gate) it's even worse. It's better if you're in the mood for lounging and reading the paper with a quiet pint of in the afternoon.
